Organisation of the Austrian coastal defence according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1911-1912 no. 4

An item reported that the complete Austrian coastal defence was a responsibility of the army except for the batteries defence the torpedo barricades [mines], which were manned by the navy.
